There is also daytime entertainment, evening shows, a 24-hour gym and a two-story spa; spa treatments and some activities cost extra. Adults who want quieter space can book the 18+ Club section. Costa Mujeres, Mexico
Costa Mujeres feels very different from Cancún's Hotel Zone even though the two are relatively close. It lies north of the city between Caribbean beaches, mangroves and the Chacmuchuch Lagoon, with far less street activity immediately outside the resorts.
The biggest reason to leave the resort is Isla Mujeres. The island sits just offshore and combines shallow Playa Norte, a compact town, seafood restaurants and the dramatic cliffs of Punta Sur. Visit Mexico also highlights the island's Maya heritage and underwater attractions.

Costa Mujeres is not a destination where a rental car is essential. For a seven-night stay, prearranged transfers plus one or two organized excursion days are usually simpler. Families wanting restaurants, nightlife and shopping outside their door will probably prefer Cancún proper.

Costa Mujeres is warm year-round, but the experience changes noticeably by season. Cancún climate averages show highs around 89°F in September, 87°F in October, 84°F in November and 82°F in December. September and October are among the wetter months; conditions generally become more comfortable heading into winter.
The Atlantic hurricane season officially runs June 1–November 30, with August through October typically the most active stretch. That does not mean a fall trip will encounter a storm, but flexible reservations and travel insurance deserve extra consideration.
Winter and early spring usually bring the strongest combination of comfortable temperatures and lower rainfall, but they also attract more visitors. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's and spring break can raise prices and crowd levels.

Family travel tips
